Anna is a PhD student working in association with the ZELS (Zoonoses and Emerging Livestock Systems) project on the epidemiology and evolution of zoonotic hybrid schistsomes in West Africa. The focus of her PhD is developing a mathematical model of zoonotic hybrid schistosome transmission in West Africa.
Anna Borlase graduated as a vet from Bristol University in 2008 and spent several years in clinical practice before studying for an MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology at the Royal Veterinary College and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. This lead directly onto studying for a PhD funded by the Bloomsbury Consortium, also at the RVC and LSHTM, supervised by Professor Joanne Webster (RVC) and Dr. James Rudge (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) which commenced in October 2015.
